I want to welcome you to GoldenstateOutdoorsman.com. I hope you enjoy the site and have a great time while visiting. My passion is the Outdoors and I truley love hunting and fishing in California. Even more, I love talking to people who share the same passions as I do for the Outdoors.

I was born and raised in Roseville, CA, and my wife and I have awesome 11 year old twin boys. There is no better enjoyment than watching my sons raised around the Outdoors. They truley have become awesome Outdoorsmen and they share the same passions and excitement about the Outdoors as I do.

I am truely a hunting fanatic. My love is deer hunting, rifle and archery, but I also enjoy duck and upland game hunting. When I am not hunting, I can be found trolling the mountain lakes with my sons and my friends.

I hope you enjoy the site, stay awhile, and meet some new friends.

Sincerely,

Justin Grinder

Now it is your turn to introduce yourself.....

Hey fellow outdoorsman,
What a great site that has been put together by Justin, i look forward to having a place to put reports and pictures up of our different fishing adventures.

I was born here in sacramento, and i currently reside in Carmichaels. I went to San Juan High School from 90-94. After highschool, i left and I did 4 years in the Marine Corps Infantry and was lucky enough to travel to korea, Russia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and jakarta.
Shortly after coming home i met my wife Melissa. We have 2 sons ages 3 and 5. They both have already been on fishing trips in my small boat and big boat and i look forward to many fishing trips with them. i like to fish for anything that bites.

Awsome site Justin ! My name is Rick Lawrence Jr. and I reside in Roseville. I am an avid hunter and fisherman and try to spend as muh time as possable in the field or on the water. My main focus is waterfowl hunting, it's more like a sickness ;) but I also enjoy big game and a limited amount of upland. I'm looking forward to seeing the site grow and be involed in the discussions in the future.

Hey Justin, nice site. I wish you well on this site. I guess it's ok for an old fart like me to be part of it.

I live to hunt and fish with my sons and 5 grandchildren, Im a lucky granddad because my sons and there wifes live locally so I have almost daily contact with them. My family has know Justin and his family for over 20 years and are some great folks, we met thru Roseville little leauge, he was one heck of a ball player, one of the best catchers in the area, but his true passion has always been hunting and fishing. I think he will make this site grow. My family in the area is known by us being called the ""California Flyway Posse "" you will see it on our trucks and all our trailers we use. We have met and become friends to many thru local outdoorsmans forums. Anyway if you see us anywhere please stop and introduce yourself. ***WESTCOASTER*** Rick Lawrence Sr

Hey Justin,

Looks like a great website! My name is Steve aka.. "Lineman". I'm a local also, born and raised in Fair Oaks. I've always enjoyed fishing and just now starting to pursue hunting. I was fortunate enough to move to the outskirts of Lincoln where game is plentiful. I recently shot my first hog which was an extreme rush that I will never forget! I'll post some pics on the hogs section soon. My new interest is varmint hunting, with coyotes being of most interest. They're extremely populated in our area and have become a bit too bold on a few occasions. I'm facinated with the art of calling them. That's all for now. Thanks again Justin! Lineman

Well, I might as well get on this site too.

I live in Lone Pine and grew up here.....at least as far as I am "grown up". My Great Grandparents were born here also.

I work part time in a local sporting goods store and operate a hunting and fishing guide service here in the Owens Valley. It is mostly for "giggles and grins", so I don't do it for the money. I just want everyone who comes here to have a good time.

I live in deer zone X9 B and the infamous G3 and am totally familiar with the adjoining X zones also. We have about a bizillion acres of open, public land, hardly any fences and very few restrictions as far as doing what you want....... as long as you do it respectfully.

I have a Chocolate Lab and a French Brittany that I try to keep busy every season. We hunt everything here.... except pigs and turkeys, which we don't have either of.....but if we did, I'd chase those too.

Some SERIOUS coyote hunting is going to start in a couple of weeks, when about 15,000 range cows will be dropping calves. That can get intense for a few months.

Official Trout season starts in March, but the Owens river is open all year, so there is always something to hunt or catch here.

We have some great 4x4 excursion roads and a vast amount of old mining and indian camps to explore.

If you guys have any questions about visiting the area, post them up and I will give you straight up, no BS answers. I don't believe in all that "local secret, honeyhole" crap. If you drive all the way here, then you deserve to be exposed to the best we've got. Period. I take a lot of local heat for that attitude, but I don't give a damn.

I just found out about this site, so figured I'd join as well. I've been a life long resident of the Sacramento area, living for the last 21 years in El Dorado Hills. With my 21 year old son, we hunt and fish for most of what California offers. Glad to see Nickman on here, he's a good guy.

Good to see some guys showing up from the Monster Muley site.

Even though that site has a California section, the Utards pretty much own the thing.

Caelknuts and Model 70guy have great input and a lot of good insight into the opportunities in the Golden State.

Maybe we can pull in a bunch of other Cali guys........I get real tired of hearing about what a turdpile we live in, from those people who think their state is "all that and a bag of chips".

Welcome to all the new members. Although this site is still in its infancy it has some great potential. Remember it's only as good as its members.

Hello, my name is Randy. I hang my hat in Yuba City. I like to fish in the rivers, shoot, reload, hunt, like most normal people.

Like to wish you all a nice New Year.

Thanks for the new site.

Hello! I'm Steve from Ripon, North of Modesto CA. I enjoy fisning for trout in the foothills and Sierra Nevada lakes and rivers. I spend most of my fishing time up the 108 and 4 hwy corridors. This looks like a great site, just what I was looking for. :D

Hi,
I'm Eastern European originally, I've been living in CA for 2 years now... so I'm still new to everything here. Got myself a Shakespeare UglyStick and an H&R 12ga shotgun so I can do again some of the things I used to do "back home". Besides the things that I have to do these days, I'm studying GIS, just for the fun of it. I'm planning on getting "out there" for a month or two in July, but I'm still looking for the right place. Looks like it's easier to do that in Transylvania, though...

Hi fellow outdoorsman! I currently on active duty right now and I'm a medic in the U.S. Army or better terms, a 68W. I love fishing and the great outdoors. I consider myself the purest of all fishermen because I release 99% of all the fishes I catch due to the fact I'm a HORRIBLE cook... I probably end up butchering the meal and wasting a fish that can be caught again for future entertainment... Love the outdoors and despite the a** chewing at Ft. Benning, I think I spent more time enjoying the outdoor experience than being a soldier. I enjoy bass fishing and trout fishing during my free time.

I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
