I was born and raised in Roseville, CA, and my wife and I have awesome 11 year old twin boys. There is no better enjoyment than watching my sons raised around the Outdoors. They truley have become awesome Outdoorsmen and they share the same passions and excitement about the Outdoors as I do.
I am truely a hunting fanatic. My love is deer hunting, rifle and archery, but I also enjoy duck and upland game hunting. When I am not hunting, I can be found trolling the mountain lakes with my sons and my friends.
I hope you enjoy the site, stay awhile, and meet some new friends.
Sincerely,
Justin Grinder
Now it is your turn to introduce yourself.....

What a great site that has been put together by Justin, i look forward to having a place to put reports and pictures up of our different fishing adventures.
I was born here in sacramento, and i currently reside in Carmichaels. I went to San Juan High School from 90-94. After highschool, i left and I did 4 years in the Marine Corps Infantry and was lucky enough to travel to korea, Russia, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore and jakarta.
Shortly after coming home i met my wife Melissa. We have 2 sons ages 3 and 5. They both have already been on fishing trips in my small boat and big boat and i look forward to many fishing trips with them. i like to fish for anything that bites.

Looks like a great website! My name is Steve aka.. "Lineman". I'm a local also, born and raised in Fair Oaks. I've always enjoyed fishing and just now starting to pursue hunting. I was fortunate enough to move to the outskirts of Lincoln where game is plentiful. I recently shot my first hog which was an extreme rush that I will never forget! I'll post some pics on the hogs section soon. My new interest is varmint hunting, with coyotes being of most interest. They're extremely populated in our area and have become a bit too bold on a few occasions. I'm facinated with the art of calling them. That's all for now. Thanks again Justin! Lineman

I live in Lone Pine and grew up here.....at least as far as I am "grown up". My Great Grandparents were born here also.
I work part time in a local sporting goods store and operate a hunting and fishing guide service here in the Owens Valley. It is mostly for "giggles and grins", so I don't do it for the money. I just want everyone who comes here to have a good time.
I live in deer zone X9 B and the infamous G3 and am totally familiar with the adjoining X zones also. We have about a bizillion acres of open, public land, hardly any fences and very few restrictions as far as doing what you want....... as long as you do it respectfully.
I have a Chocolate Lab and a French Brittany that I try to keep busy every season. We hunt everything here.... except pigs and turkeys, which we don't have either of.....but if we did, I'd chase those too.
Some SERIOUS coyote hunting is going to start in a couple of weeks, when about 15,000 range cows will be dropping calves. That can get intense for a few months.
Official Trout season starts in March, but the Owens river is open all year, so there is always something to hunt or catch here.
We have some great 4x4 excursion roads and a vast amount of old mining and indian camps to explore.
If you guys have any questions about visiting the area, post them up and I will give you straight up, no BS answers. I don't believe in all that "local secret, honeyhole" crap. If you drive all the way here, then you deserve to be exposed to the best we've got. Period. I take a lot of local heat for that attitude, but I don't give a damn.

Even though that site has a California section, the Utards pretty much own the thing.
Caelknuts and Model 70guy have great input and a lot of good insight into the opportunities in the Golden State.
Maybe we can pull in a bunch of other Cali guys........I get real tired of hearing about what a turdpile we live in, from those people who think their state is "all that and a bag of chips".

I'm Eastern European originally, I've been living in CA for 2 years now... so I'm still new to everything here. Got myself a Shakespeare UglyStick and an H&R 12ga shotgun so I can do again some of the things I used to do "back home". Besides the things that I have to do these days, I'm studying GIS, just for the fun of it. I'm planning on getting "out there" for a month or two in July, but I'm still looking for the right place. Looks like it's easier to do that in Transylvania, though...
