I know a few you guys might live out-of-state.WHERE TRAPPING IS LEGAL
Here is a trap set-up I use to use, You take a 8" round PVC cap for pipe, drill a 1 1/2" hole in the top then cut a piece of pipe about 3" and glue it to the cap, Your trap will set under this now you put in a little bait(stinking Fish) under this raised up cover(you have to make sure your piece of pipe is tall enough for your trap to clear) the Racoon reaches in and snap the trap get his foot now the 8" cap slip up and down so he can't chew at his leg or trap and it safe to use around area in close to building because it don't catch dogs and cats. I have use it on the riverbed running thru town and it would get a few dozen coons a year.
